1.5 months and 100

Good Evening everyone,

This has been a fast learning curve the last six weeks. From only ever having a fig in an Irish Hotel for desert to now having 10 trees and close to 60 active cuttings.

I can safely now say I am a Fig Addict. Thank God there is no 12 step recovery program, just eat and grow more figs. Let keep the passion alive...

Chris

Wow!  You move fast!  I'm pretty much astounded!  And I usually jump in, impulsive, but wow!!

So Chris, you need a place for some of those active cuttings?  Happy to trade for something I want with something I have!  Check my wish list below.  You have something on that, PM me, and I'll tell you what I have.

Suzi

Suzi,

I am working on a file system to maintain some records that have been done so far in notebooks. My main problem is housing all the trees after development. We all have this problem at some point, way more trees than land.

Everyone is telling me to switch majors into agriculture, but this is a hobby and my degree is already too close as I am in courses for a Master in crop science and environmental science. The goal of my degree however is environmental science in paleontology using botanical fossils. So sorta already in agriculture but far away to not be called agriculture.

But, anyhow yes, I too am normally a very diverse and impulsive when i get into an idea. When I was younger my parents allowed me to get into avian breeding and that is still a part of my life 20 years later. However, I am nowhere near the amount of avians now (35) as when I was majorly into the program (600+). Think I will start learning the fig breeding next year as I am finding articles and journal information on the process. Always need another project to work on...

Currently have the following rooting:

Celeste (two varieties)
Black Mission
Atreano (unconfirmed as of yet)
Alma
Verte
Blache de Sable (Virginia Unknown - 001)
RedMill (Virginia Unknown - 002)  possible Celeste

Growing with leaves:

Old Brooklyn
RedMill (Virginia Unknown - 002)  possible Celeste

Have heard rumors of a Petite Negra in the area and need to get over to that region of town.

Chris

Chris,

We have that lack of land problem too, which is why we are looking for short sales on property.  Lost 2 full price all cash bids so far, but 3rd time is the charm!

Good luck with your growing!

Suzi

Recieved all the cutting sent out.
