A few firsts for me in Genovese Nero, Noire de Caromb, Red Sicilian Bifara, and Corynth. Some were picked early ahead of rain. In the case of GN, it was before a fig explosion.
Petite Negra- tasted like a cross between VDB and Hardy Chicago.
Ronde De Bordeaux- this one was well ripened and sweet. It is a quality fig and it's good but there's a floral aftertaste that prevents it from being great to me.
Red Sicilian Bifara- a sweet little berry flavored fig
Fico Preto- very sweet with fruity aftertaste. Honey sealed the eye.
Gino's- like all Mt. Etna figs they are full of jammy goodness when the skin is cracked and a little wrinkled.
Noire de Caromb- very high quality fig with tight eye. It was sweet with slight figginess. My wife liked this Gino's and Longue d'aout the best.
Genovese Nero- I rescued this from exploding so it wasn't fully ripe. However, it was pretty sweet and the flesh was delicate. There are others swelling so I will update.
Longue d'aout- my favorite this year. Normally VDB and Mt. Etna figs are my favorite but this year LDA is the winner so far. Huge jammy goodness. It helps if you let it sit on the counter overnight.
Corynth- tastes like a soft skinned Kadota so far. It is prolific.
JH Adriatic- my favorite green fig. Very sweet with nice acid balance. If the skin wasn't as thick it would be my favorite.
