The 10 x 12 harbor freight greenhouse is on sale this week for $599 with coupon. While I know it might not be the best one on the market, is it worth the money? Regular price is $899. Does anyone have experience with this product? Thanks

That greenhouse is normally marked down to $699. If you use the 20% off one item coupon you can get it cheaper than the $599 coupon price. I was also looking at that coupon until I did the math in my head.

I wish you could use that 20% coupon on the $599 price but you can't use two coupons together.

I have had this model.  I took it down after 2 seasons. Drafty very prone to heat loss.

IMHO you would be better off with a PVC hoop frame covered with greenhouse fabric and utilizing snap clamps to hold down plastic.

Drive rebar 4.5 feet long, 3 foot into ground, place 3/4" electrical conduit (PVC) over rebar 4 feet apart, attach purlines (I have used wood 1x2s) to stabilize.  Length of PVC determines height and width, 20' (2 pieces connected together) gave me about 16' wide by 9-10' high, total of greenhouse length determined by how many pvc hoops you use, I used 5 for 20 feet.  

Much cheaper, sturdier, less drafty, and easier to assemble.  I take mine down in the Spring, but could be used year round with some modifications.

Unfortunately you get what you pay for with greenhouses. I bought something like this at BJs, halfway through construction I had to stop and deconstruct the whole thing and return it all due to a defective part. Not to mention time and energy wasted. Also set me back 6 months in being able to have a greenhouse set up in time for March 1st growing season, so I lost a season of experimentation as well. I decided to go with a much more expensive model, but Juliana makes good mid-proced greenhouses. Another option is to do what Nick did in Pennsylvania, which is to get this greenhouse and then reinforce and retro-fit it, but you need to be smart and handy to do that. Good luck.

Johnny your right, a better deal using the 20% on the sale price of $699. That makes the final $550 or there about. Saw some videos on u tube that dealt with reinforcements for this model that were within my abilities. Extra savings could be used on this. With reasonable expectations I may pull the trigger. Thanks all for your advice.

Don't do it. Mine collapsed under the weight of heavy snow even after the reinforcement. I rebuilt mine with 2x4 lumber for the entire framing. I would not do it again.

My greenhouse was blown down -- came from Costco. It's a Palram and Costco never bothered to reply
re warranties. I rebuilt & reinforced with 2x4. Inspite of the fact I left 2 roof panels & side panels to
be completed, it did not blew down this past winter/spring.
