Can not say that all of my figs unique , but mostly rare.

I have a truly tiny urban garden, filled with fruits and vegetables.

I only have five fig trees.

You can kick me off the forum if you want.

Small garden is the best way to keep your sanity - I have huge garden and just can not stop.

I just started growing figs last year.  My original plan was a fig tree or two.  That quickly became 12 by the end of the summer.  Over the winter, I rooted another 20 varieties.  I think I'm at 50 something trees at the moment, which is more than I can technically overwinter in my garage.  Oops.

A year and 8 months ago, none.

At the end of last growing season, 44 fig plants of 42 varieties.

Have 31 leafed out rooted cuttings of 17 additional varieties that look like they are big enough to make it, a few more stubborn varieties that are still in a rooting bin but not dead after 6-12 weeks.

Going to be very slowly adding just a few select varieties yearly from here on, I hope, and weed out some that don't do as well for me after testing.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it.  :)

A few to go in ground this summer in protected locations, most of the rest in 5g SIPs.

I don't know.  I made good progress on creating a consolidated list last August but then got busy with farm chores and now am further behind than ever.  I need an office manager! ;)

Hi,
Almost one year later. Last year I had 10 varieties and looking for space.
This year last season, I still added more ... Pushing the garden limits.
3 were rooted in July, and I'm still to see if they made it through the winter .
The others are all alive, and last year was a fruitful year fig-wise .
Looking for the same this year as the winter was sort of mild, I'm tackling the rodent population really hard ( last week, one made a gallery next to my longue d'aout - but problem already solved), and
trees are aging so some 5 more into fruiting age ... Well wait, water, fertilize, care, sing, talk to , and see :) .

LOL

I need to hire a fig manager/consultant/squirrel killer for my growing collection.

I'm a newbie who just started less than two months ago with seeds from ebay. Now I have 9 varieties and dreaming to get more in the future :)

You people are the only ones who understand my sentiments towards squirrels.

Squirrel = tree rat.
Enough said.

Harvey, if you had put some ketchup on your teeth/mouth that photo would have looked even more menacing :)

I think I have over 50 varieties but it could be more.  Trying really hard to stay away from the forum right now as I do not want any more until things settle down and I take care of what I have already started and finish the cuttings in the fridge.  I potted up 22 more plants yesterday.
