Sorry I didn't put all info in, was just a quick post. Location--Yuma, AZ--zone 10. Fig was fully drooped over and resting on the stem. Don't have my net enclosure for this bush out yet, if I had waited another day, Mocking birds would probably have found it.
This bush is one of the most common found in this area, along with Kadota, Conradia and black mission. It's a six year old (in the ground 6 years) Brown Turkey, referred to sometimes as a "improved" Brown Turkey, Or as our European forum members are always so quick to point out, "sorry, not a Brown Turkey".
Point of interest is that, for the 6 years I have had it, the earliest brebas are thicker rind, and not quite as flavorful as the later ones. The main crop figs, from early June to November are thin skinned and ripen to a soft jelly like mass. Another month I'll have Conradias and Kadotas and will try to remember to post. have fun all. pops
