My outdoor in-ground fig orchard is going to be going dormant soon (first frost is usually in mid-October), so I'm going to start lining up new homes for the cuttings now. I've got 19 varieties that went in-ground last year and have produced a lot of wood this year, and I'm selling them all for $2 per cutting. Taking orders via pm or email sounds like a logistical nightmare, so I set up a basic site at http://www.FigCuttings.com to streamline the ordering process. Rather than pm'ing or emailing your order to me, simply scroll through the varieties there and click the 'add to cart' buttons to order whatever you want. I've tallied how much wood can be pruned from each tree, and have listed a safe estimate of how many cuttings will be available. When those safe estimates are reached, I'll remove the 'add to cart' buttons for those varieties so that I won't oversell my available inventory. I can't ship internationally or to Hawaii, I apologize, but I can ship to California. Happy figging :)LATEST UPDATE -- All the packages are in the mail for all orders up through last night (11/13/2015). I've still got a lot of extra cuttings, so feel free to order more. I'll keep the listings updated on availability, and will ship new orders as they come in, probably within 24 hours of being placed.

The biggest I've ripened so far is the Black Greek. I had main crop figs that were 110 grams off of the Black Greek growing in my aquaponics system, and 70 grams off the one growing in a 5gal pot. Conadria is the biggest light colored fig I've ripened, I think the main crop was around 70g. Black Jack is supposed to be enormous, but I haven't fruited it yet. If you want to see some impressive pics, there's a poster named KCMarie who has a great thread showing off her huge Black Jacks: http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/my-black-jacks-7088110?&trail=50

I know that can be frustrating to people who live in California, but on the bright side there are a lot of good sources for fig cuttings inside of your state. Jon's Encanto Farms and Harvey's Figaholics are both located there, and there are a lot of f4f members there who like to trade.

It's no trouble, I'll refund one of the shipping charges and just ship both orders together :)

Sure thing, Frank. I'll ground-layer one, too, that you can have for free if your cuttings don't work out. One of my Vistas is growing in a gravel growbed with fishy water flowing through the gravel, and if I bend it over and partially bury it in the gravel, it'll root. After the roots get established, I could sever it, jiggle off the gravel, ziploc the bare-root plant along with a damp paper towel, and send it in a padded envelope.

Thanks for providing me a way to start my own home fig orchard! I can already see myself going way overboard with this :-). I am interested in quite a few of the varieties listed as growing in your greenhouse too. Will you post on the forum when they are ready or should I just check your website periodically?

Glad to be helpful :) I'll post an update in this thread when those later cuttings are ready. They probably won't go dormant until late December or January, though, so it'll be a while.

Hey, well I'm gonna place my second order now that I mentioned when asking about double shipping charges. Quick question you have white Marseilles and Dr. Monticello, is one the closed eye one I've read about and the other open eye? Are they the same just from different sources originally? Just wasn't sure which to get and they are almost gone. Thanks for the help and awesome prices.

Thanks for the offer! I picked up a couple. And yes, fairly new to figs. I harvested one fig this year from a cutting. I live in the Midwest, should I keep cuttings in the fridge till closer to spring? or should i root them now?

Dr. Monticello's is a dark fig, like Black Mission, whereas White Marseilles is a light fig, like Italian Honey. Happy figging :)

Depends on how much time and effort you want to put into them over the winter, and whether you can provide a suitable environment for them. I personally start all of my cuttings as soon as I get them in the fall and winter, since that helps me fruit most of them the 1st year despite our short outdoor growing season. Similarly, waking up potted plants early results in more fruiting by extending the season. But keep in mind that I have some greenhouses that are pretty helpful. I think most folks can handle starting at least a few cuttings, though, without getting overwhelmed or needing a greenhouse, so I'd say go for it if you want to do some.

It'll depend on the weather, but best guess is probably early November.

Hello, I bought five or six different varieties on Sep 24. Was disappointed the Violette de Bordeaux was already sold out If you find that you underestimated the amount of VDB cuttings you will have, please consider placing me in the front of the queue for either 2 or 3 cuttings Looking forward to November or whenever these ship, and thanks

I'm not sure, you'll have to do your own research on that. The requirements probably vary by country.
