Good Luck with your cuttings, keep us posted on your progress!
Right on, keep an eye out for gnats
You got some really nice collection there. Good luck.. and watch out for gnats.
great varieties, looking good. have fun with them.
They are sprouting but not rooting. Is it normal?
Yes, it's common for cuttings to sprout shoots before leaves sometimes. Roots are not far behind though.
FiggyFrank, Thanks!
Vicks,I would be proactive with regards to gnats, don't wait for them to show up. Get yourself some BTI (bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) and start treatment now. Make sure it is BTI and not one of the other variants. An example of BTI is Gnatrol. You can get it on Amazon. And also make sure you follow the label instructions. I suspect that some of the failures people have with BTI controlling fungus gnats is too low of a concentration or too infrequent applications.
I bought neem oil last year it worked for my yard. Im going try neem oil to spray inside boxes. Someone said using neem oil to kill Gnat more like using a bazooka to kill a mouse.
Vicks,I also forgot to mention that the BTI is made into a solution to drench the soil and kill the gnat larvae. The neem oil, if it works, would probably only work on the adult gants. I've used a pyrethrin containing spray for the adult gnats.
all cuttings are, almost 2" long, sprouting. :)
Congratulations....upload some pix!
Congratulations! Good luck with them!
Cool Vicks !What cultivators are you rooting ?
Jolly Tiger, Red Lebanese, White George, Brooklyn White, Marseilles Black VS, Genoa, Strawberry Vert, Nordland, Nero 600, Brown Turky, Celeste, , Smith, Hunt and one unknown
Was your Jolly Tiger hard to root? I heard it is. Great varieties you have there!
Yeah. I am happy to see this Jolly Tiger, just 2 in long, sprouting.. Most varieties were from EBAY with my neighbors.
