Rather than posting each crop as it comes in, I have decided to lump everything together that has come in so far. We start with Adriatic JH, a first year tree, so not as good as it will be someday!

Italian White Unknown (needed another day or two-impatience!)

All these are main crop.

Coincidently, I've been lusting for Adriatic JH & Marseilles Black VS! If only they were "scratch and taste" pictures :)

Adriatic JH had berry notes, nice texture. Will only get better. Marseilles Black is very consistent-ripens early, closed eye and no hole in the middle. Pleasant figgy flavor. The birds have been attacking my Negronne relentlessly.

I forgot to add this unknown breba, very sugary, weighed in at 110 grams. Sold to me by a forum member as Paradiso, which apparently it is NOT. Unfortunately, it was the only breba on this tree.

They are all good. Adriatic JH should become the best but for now Marseilles Black or Negronne (lots of size variation).

Why are you saying its not Paradiso? The picture, green outside with red inside is the typical description of Paradiso.

I sent the leaves over to Herman for id, he said it was not Paradiso Gene (the dog tag on the tree is a misnomer, it says Gino's Paradiso). Here are the leaves in case you want to contribute your two cents, which is always welcome.

Btw Pete the tree only has 3 main crop on it, but has branched nicely from the tall, skinny stick it was in March.

I know you are aware that there are several different figs called Paradiso, ~ 6 in the forum community.

With the name clarification, Paradiso Gene, the ID is much easier because of the documented characteristics. I don't currently grow a Paradiso Gene, so I would rely on the knowledge of Herman2 (VS). Good Luck.

BTW the pictured leaves are juvenile leaves, mature leaves are usually formed off older wood and later in the season.

I was under the impression that you are trying to match it to Paridiso Gene, which is the only one that it can realistically be compared to at this time. The drawing would only be a reference of how that original documented Paradiso should look.

Not to reinvent the wheel, but if the picture you supplied is Gallesio's Paradiso, I think it is clear, and Herman and others would agree, that Gene's Paradiso is the closest one to the Gallesio (also Giovanni's Paradiso in Philadelphia).
