2016 Backyard Fruit Tree Project - Episode #6 Violette de Bordeaux Fig Tree Breba Crop

Thanks for the video!  Nice crop you have coming on there, lots to look forward to.

Here I find VdB and Vista are fantastic tasting.  I say no one should be with out a VdB in their collection.

nice video, nice crop, it looks really nice fig.

I have 2 VdB cuttings from different sources, just leaves out and very weak and growing slow, I hope that I get a good one.

Looks good Joe, thanks for sharing!

OT...why is the A/C on the roof?  Is it a desert thing?

Thanks Don!  Yes VdB is a very good fig.  I'm glad I have it in my collection.

Thanks Ricky!  Best luck with your cuttings.  Years back I rooted a VdB cutting from UC Davis.  It grew very slowly.  In fact I gave it to friend and it is still only about 3 feet tall today.  The VdB that I have in my yard came from a fig enthusiast here in AZ and it appears to grow much better than the UC Davis plant I had.

Thats the way they built houses in this area until about 20 years ago when it became more common to put the ac compressor outside on the ground and the ac handler in the attic.  Almost every home here has central air.
