My figs set in March-April and ripen late May through July for most part. This is my only in-ground fig the rest are in pots. It seems like after the first main crop was done the tree was spent of energy dropped most of it leaves and took a few weeks off (2to4) to recuperate. Then it put on new leaves and figs again. I guess this is what you would call a second flush of growth with fruit. I think these will start to be ripe in 3-5 wks I had 2 that ripened and 1 turning. These pics were taken yesterday and the fruit set in late July to early August.
 This is my Black Unknown.   
A few other varieties show this tendency. Not as loaded with figs but they are in pots
MBVS, Ronde De Bordeaux, and Sal Corleone.
Also Conadria to a lesser extent and LSU Gold has a few new figs. My potted figs have not put on that much new leaf growth as the in ground has I have 2 more of the same in 20 gal pots with lees new leaves also.

Could I ask if you have sandy soil and if so what did you do to discourage the nematode population ?
I have a brother in Florida who may be  putting in a fig hedge sometime soon and I've mentioned to add as much organic matter as possible.
What is your secret ? Hope you enjoy your Fall fig crop.

WoW Sal, Mine is still in a pot but will be going into the ground soon. I hope it looks like yours. Was your first crop as plentiful?  It kinda reminds me of my Cajun Gold except my second crop is crowded together like grapes and it doesn't ripen many because the cold gets to them. Perhaps in your climate it would do much better.

Maybe in right climate many figs are everbearing in different sense of the meaning they rest briefly then start again kinda everbearing . 
Like you metion put out figs then rested briefly yet weather was favorable and started another crop of figs.

I surely cannot attest to that as well you know we get those 4 letter words here

Kind of looks like a breba crop that was induced to flush early because of temp fluctuations. If they were a second main crop flush, they should be up with the new leaves.

Thanks Jon, I would never thought breba on new growth (these figs are on growth from the past 4-5 months) The tree was trimmed in Feb to 2 main trunks the long branches are coming from ground suckers or bottom side shoots of parts I trimmed. As far as temp fluctuation there is none here as of yet (March-April low 80's hi,low 70's night....  June, July, August 90-100 day High70's Low 80's Night.... Sept-Oct hi 80's low 90's day hi 70's night so far) HOT HOTTER HOT Lol :) Here is a pic I just took to show fruit more near top of leaf growth on green wood. Leaf Rust a big problem I  need to spray next season
