So after receiving cuttings of jimmy's St.Anthony (tbr), I placed the cuttings several ways to see how they would grow. I put one in a self watering 2L bottle, two in a potting soil mix, and two in the normal vermiculite/perilite mix after rooting in sphagnum moss. I then placed them in a humidity chamber. Here are the results: Self watering 2L: Potting mix in a cup: The second one was placed directly outside in the shade, looks pretty dead. I was very surprised by how well the self watering pot did. I'm going to try this method more in the future as it's actually the easiest method since I don't need to worry about over or under watering. Nick
Thanks noss! Yes I talked about it in my black mission thread… here is the post in case you didn't see it… The self watering 2L are really easy... just take a 2L bottle and cut it in half, maybe 2" more towards the top. Then take a couple of paper towels to make the wick. Here's a youtube video showing just how to do it: http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=yuUFSPFbnL4&feature=player_embedded&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Ffeature%3Dplayer_embedded%26v%3DyuUFSPFbnL4 Nick
