I wish I would have known about this about 6 weeks ago...but thanks.  I've had co-workers save the large starbucks cups for me but these look really nice.

I get 24 oz cups (50 count) from GFS or Costco.  The ones from GFS are about $8.  Costco/Sams has about a 100 cups and I think theirs is about $12-14.  I use a soldering iron to make 4 holes on the bottom and some around the sides.  If you wash them, you can re-use these many times over.  Another good source is Micky D's.....If you ask politely, they will give 3-4 when you buy something if you tell them what it is for.

I'm sorry I've put off formally introducing myself. My name is Gabe and I am in Northern California. I am new to growing figs but I've learned more than I ever knew since I joined. I've been a lurker for a long time before I decided to jump in. Figs fascinate me unlike nothing else I've ever tried to grow; maybe, it's because of its long history, then I also associate its origins with places some of which I'll never get to see in my lifetime. Since joining, I've done a few trades; I have also benefited from the kindness and generosity of many members which I never anticipated and for which I am grateful. I find it especially exciting that the cuttings come from all points of the country.

I'll be using these cups for the first time myself and I'll post on how they work for me.

Welcome to the forum! I am using some of those cups (but with a diff. branding). They work nicely and allow to put some gravel at the bottom to make them heavier and to drain better. I keep them in a Staples plastic box on a heating mat with a lid ajar. 

I was tempted to buy these but 500 might outlive me. My local Chinese restaurant sells me 50 for $10, no tops.

China Taste had offered a few for free but when I told him 50 now and 50 later he had second thoughts. I root in 7oz cups with the 32oz the last stop in a clear container.

My favorite container for fig-twig-rooting was always foam-cups.
Cheap and (somewhat) breathing (porous) - currently using 24 ounce as ideal size.
No, developing roots are not visible though - if done right - who cares?
