Today I hit 32, now the weather seems very crazy compaired to the past. Waiting for my figs to ripen up. Normaly by this time my hardy chicago would already have ripe fruit. Now I'm hoping to atleast get some ripe before the weather turns.

Thinking if maybe I put my potted figs in the greenhouse that maybe the extra heat in there may help me get some ripe fruit. I am unsure if this will help. Any advice?

Happy Birthday!  Extra heat wouldn't hurt as long as you're not over 95.

I think almost everybody not in a warm climate is late. Most of mine that weren't in the greenhouse over winter are about a month behind. My plan is to just extend the season by moving them into the GH before it gets too cool. I got to try black Madeira last year doing that. Figs need a certain amount of time to get ripe.

happy b-day! last yr during a hurricane.. i put my figs into the garage.. some figs ripen while in there. but not sure if it was because they were due, or the higher temp in my garage.

I wonder if anyone has made a zodiac fig chart... and I wonder what we Leos would be... happy birthday!

Zodiac fig chart, leos would have to be the best. represented by the sun, we are the center of the universe. Many other signs are drawn to the energy of leo in much the same way. That's why some say we are self centerd, but I preffer misunderstood. Leos love to love, and love even more to be loved.

Sum that up in a fig ;-)
