$7 fig trees for spring/summer delivery, around 150+ varieties

Hello waynea and everyone concerned,

It seems that "Unrealistic Expectations" and "Poor Planning" are keywords. I am very sorry that I have no understanding on James. I apologize for stirring up this thread.

There is no need to apologize for expecting delivery on something you have paid for.

Hello Chapman,

Thank you for your kind words.

Hello waynea,

It will take me a little time to reply. Sorry.

Hey Wayne: Excellent post! You explained things a whole lot better than I ever could! We are very fortunate to have you as a member here!

Hello waynea,

I respect James' intention. I pray for his success. One or two years later, he would be able to make a plan.

I understood his situation. I will probably chose asking for a refund because awakened cuttings would rot during transportation in April.

Because James does not reply to email, I had to join in this thread to contact with James. So far, many participants have been expelled from this thread. But nothing venture, nothing win. I started a discussion based on an article of "Winter 2016 Fig Cuttings for Sale".

> With all the right conditions: timing, starting date, and weather being perfect, he may have pulled this off and met all deadlines.

I disagree with this point. In greenhouse, James have to conquer these conditions because the climate in the greenhouse is artificial.

It is the last, but the following articles include pictures of Japanese nursery. One employee cares for about 7000 fig plants.

( From January to June. It takes about 5 to 6 months to make seedlings.)

(After transplanting to quarter gallon pots, they are probably watered from the bottom.)

Best regards.

@ ThaiFig,

I do not think James should answer you...you are not a customer...I read you promised not to post on this thread again " I am avoiding making any further comments on F4F",

I did not bother you there, you are entitled to your opinion...but in this thread, you are trying to be poisonous ...and that is not nice...

@ Mizuyari

you are either in or out....we did not hear yet that James is not refunding people their money...if you are not comfortable waiting, I recommend asking for refund...

@Mizuyari: you have all the right to ask about your cuttings. I don't know why some members here get so upset if someone question something valid about James. It's now a sin or a crime to question something about James business, specially when he's not answering emails and he's faillings to do schedules? This man asked a valid question and the answer of many members is go ask for a refund if you are not willing to wait.
James can't take the money of everyone, change dates several times and if you are not happy ask for a refund. People
Who paid need real explanation, not just updates with photos.
If this man like many others have put the money and faith on James, the least he can do is to give him straight answers. Cutting season is short and you don't want to waist it with just promises.

Thaifig, thank you for laying out the facts in your previous posts.  People try to silence you, but they can't argue with the facts, they have to attack the messenger.

@ Lebmark

Thank you for your comment. I would like to ask for refund.

@ Rob_Steven

Thank you for your advice. I have the right, but I am worried about James. He may be in poor health or depressed. Let James be always happy and kind.

> Cutting season is short and you don't want to waist it with just promises.
I agree with you. I prefer refund to waiting.

Hi Mizuyari!
I have rooted cuttings from actively growing fig trees and they did a little bit better than dormant cuttings, the difference was that the tree belonged to me and they were fresh cuttings. I really don't know how awakened cuttings will be impacted in a very long trip. I't seems that you made your decision, I just wanted to let you know my experience. Good luck!!!

This is a really long thread and I don't want to start from the beginning it will take all day.  However, I just wanted clarification.  I ordered figs from James in late 2015 or early 2016 from the website that was set up.  I can't remember, but I do have a Paypal invoice I can check.  I have not received any updates.  Are all the orders delayed?  I sent a private message but did not get a reply.  I've waited this long, so I can wait longer.  I just want a bit of clarity.

Then go to paypal and ask for a refund. This thread is not the appropriate place to ask for a refund.

@utes, yes this thread has a lot of blah, blah, blah in it. Has disintegrated into personal attacks, appears to have caused one member to leave, a lot of drama.

There is a lot of suspicion that those who keep stirring the pot are fig tree and cutting vendors who stand to lose income if James succeeds in providing the high dollar fig trees to the masses at a resonable price.

There is a lot of concern that James has bitten off more than he can chew. It's up to everyone to draw their own conclusion on this. in my opinion, you do have to read through the posts to make an informed choice. Would be nice if the blather was filtered out. But in a society with free speach, you do have to take the bad with the good.

Cliff notes on where James stands with his progress and challenges are in post 805.

Boils down to either you wait until your trees are delivered, or you don't and you ask for a refund. Looks like you have made the choice, like I did, to wait.

Hello mfehmi,

Thank you for your comment. As for cuttings from actively growing fig trees, if they are placed in a closed area for more than 4 or 5 days above 70 degrees Fahrenheit, I believe that they would die or mold would start growing on them.

You also made your decision.
best wishes

Hello, matthew

Thank you for your advice. I follow your instructions.

Actually, in a privately owned forum you don't have to take the good with the bad. The owner of the forum can remove posts that are inflammatory or personal attacks.

I appreciate the helpful information.  I'm ok with waiting; I just wanted to make sure that my order was not forgotten.  I placed it in December of 2015 and I thought that I remembered some customers expressing gratitude for having received their orders this past summer.  No worries...I can wait.

What/who is this referencing?  I have given a full and prompt refund to everyone who has asked me for one.  I have never intentionally given anyone less than a complete refund, and nobody has ever replied back and said that I didn't refund the proper amount on an order.  If someone slipped through the cracks and I somehow accidentally didn't give them the full amount, then I want to know about it so that I can correct it.

BTW, not only do I return all of the money when a refund is requested, I also have to eat all the PayPal fees associated with the original transaction (~3%), because it's often the case that too much time has passed for PayPal to reimburse them to me.

It appears that cponzi has an agenda. He recently registered like a few other well wishers, just to post on this thread. I wouldn't pay attention to anything he has to say.

Hope to just see updates on this thread going forward. Thank You James.

Hummm, since there are clearly inflammatory and derogatory posts in this thread, wonder why they are not removed? Maybe cause that would be viewed as censorship. IMO, difference of opinion is fine, it's the potential hidden agendas that bother me.

@James:  Here's the report of not receiving shipping.  Post 630.  Since others have reported receiving full refunds , i would imagine this one is a random error or false report.

@Sas:  Perhaps you would be more enlightened if you didn't ignore the posts with which you didn't agree.  If you prefer to be ignorant and bliss, that's fine too.

@cponzi you're a true cowardly lion. If you reveal your true identity, then perhaps you deserve to express your opinion.

some people are classless...have no business being on this thread...they are not customers...but most are Fig merchant or working for a fig merchant...and afraid that James will succeed.

and the other...are so trusting( I am being nice) that they do not see the poison when it is sugar coated...

if a none customer have gripe with James...let them start a new topic and voice their feelings... but Don't act like a concern citizen that have our best interest at heart...which you do not..
