$7 fig trees for spring/summer delivery, around 150+ varieties

Is your brandy fig the same as LSU Scotts yellow,or is it the dark fig some people are selling on ebay?

I'm surprise that Smith are still available. If I don't have this already I would order it.

Ordered: BM, CdDB, Figo Preto, I258, and MB :) Thank you James for doing this.

Starting to drop out.  19 varieties currently sold out...don't wait too long!

Having tasted 95% of the Figs listed, Smith and TX-BA1 and White Triana should be in the top 10-best tasting fig! Both Smith and TX-BA1 are prolific trees----very rich tasting. There are STILL some excellent cultivars listed for sale. And you can't go wrong for a seven dollar fig tree, If my cloner wasn't full, I'd order more!

Dennis, does your TX-BA1 set a heavy breba crop and how is the quality of the breba figs?  Thanks

Let's say I ordered 5 trees to get maximum value for shipping costs.  Now it is Jul and only 2 trees are ready.  You are going to ship those and ship the others when they are ready (if buyer doesn't want a refund)?  Who pays shipping on the later order?

Thanks for any clarification.

I'm planning on paying the extra shipping charges myself.

Wow, that would be above and beyond anything I expected.  If all trees are actively growing under your care, I personally would be fine to just wait until the slow growers get up to size, and then get the shipment.  It isn't like I can make them grow any better.

Thanks for offering to be so flexible, I appreciate it.

THIS is an awesome deal I ordered  a few trees right away ...I have no problem waiting and  There are no restrictions here in Nebraska  little trees can come in soil. I am only about a 120 miles from GreeFin

Thanks James

HA! Order more? I have 4 cloners now!!!!! And it looks like I'm gonna have about 100 figs to pot up so, I'm pushing back a little. AND NOT TO MENTION, I HAVE 8 BAGS OF CUTTINGS THAT I STARTED AROUND THE FIRST OF DECEMBER. So, I need to slow down..... A little....hehehe.

HOW BOUT THOSE FIGS!!!!!

SOON DENNIS WILL BE ON THAT SHOW

FIG HORDER  INTERVENTION

OK  a bunch of people on here will be on that show .

I wish to buy but you cannot ship to other international location. hmmm :(

I didn't have time to read all the way through all the posts. But as a California gardener I would much rather receive 2 cuttings of each now (if available) and take the chance on growing them out myself, under my conditions. Could this be a possibility? In addition This cuts down on the sellers liability as well. Thanks for the generous offer. BTW it's taste and what grows best in our area that's more important than price. I mean there are so many hundreds, aren't there?  I think something like this, and the advanced generosity I have received from other members, has created much good will and will do much to expand the hobby and the value of this web-site. Be well Noel

These $7 trees will be around 6-12" tall and will be shipped bare-root.  Shipping charge is $15 per box, up to 5 trees per box, so the overall shipping rates will look like this:

# of trees     Shipping
1-5                  $15
6-10                $30
11-15              $45
16-20              $60
21-25              $75
etc..

PayPal's programming doesn't allow me to add more than 5 gradations of shipping charge, so it defaults to $75 for everything over 25 trees.  So if you're wanting to order more than 25 trees, please do it with multiple orders and place a max of 25 trees in each order.  For example, if you want to order 40 trees, place one order for 25 trees and another order for 15 trees.

So what's the catch?  Well, if there's a 'catch', it's that you can't get the trees right away, because I'll have to grow them out for you.  You'll receive your trees in the spring or summer, depending on how many I need to propagate.  I anticipate that most orders will be shipped around July 1st, though some of the smaller/simpler orders will probably go out earlier.  If any of the trees you order aren’t ready by July, perhaps because of slow growth or excessive demand, I’ll ship the ones that are ready and give you the choice to either get a refund on the others or to wait and receive them whenever they're ready.

Why don't I grow them out first and then sell them?  Because if I did, I wouldn't sell them for $7, I'd sell them for a price closer to their market value (i.e. for much more $$).  This is a special offer to sell you trees for little more than it costs me to produce them, but only if you pre-pay to cover those expenses.  Doing things this way allows me to know how many of each variety I need to grow, and it gives me the money in advance to cover the costs of growing them.

So what's in it for me?  A large part of the cost of growing the fig trees will be heating my 4 greenhouses, where I also grow lots of fish and bananas.  Heating is really expensive, so I usually only heat half my space, and I only heat it a minimal amount.  But I would crank up the heat for your fig trees, and that would have the side benefits of making my fish and bananas happier and helping them to grow faster.   So in a nutshell, in exchange for hooking you up with cheap trees, you’d help to pay my heating bill and allow me to grow bigger fish and bananas.  Everybody wins :)

So the offer is out there:  If you're willing to wait until this upcoming spring/summer to receive your trees, then I will grow you whatever you want for $7 per tree.

Orders will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.  Getting your order in early puts you at the front of the line and maximizes the odds that you'll receive your trees early in the season.

Many of these varieties are new additions this winter, and while they all came from reputable sources, it should be noted that I haven't personally fruited them yet.

You can view the listings and place your orders at http://www.figcuttings.com/p/fig-trees-for-sale.html

Happy hunting!

James,

I have 3 fig trees, one white, one yellow & one dark. Don't know cultivars.

Problem is, being in South New Jersey (7b), my figs rarely mature and at the end of the summer, the trees are loaded with U ripe figs.

SO, what varieties you offer will give early mature figs if any are available. Thanks, FigPort

Lolita: you are right to enjoy and want share about what makes you happy! I agree that everyone values differently. Personally, I appreciate that you took the time to share here your happiness about your special find/win. I think it is important in life to rejoice in all that is good. I notice sometimes we humans tent to covet or envey what others have instead of just sharing in their joy. Im not insinuating that anyone here is doing this. I am simply saying that as s society we do this sort of thing. I think that to share in the joy of others and to be happy with them and for them is really a better way to live. Again, we all value differently.

I am happy for your great win, Lolita.

What's the guarantee that you'll actually ship the trees if we "pay now get later"

I am 72 and I have learned over the years that guarantees are pretty much worthless for some things. Sometimes you just have to trust and take that leap of faith. I ordered several of these plants because it just feels right. I would pay $7 + s&h any day to have someone root my cuttings for me. If you can't get your head wrapped around this offer then with all due respect don't make the purchase. If you hesitate going into this endeavor you probably will be looking for the negative and most likely will be dissatisified with the outcome.Pleast don't take the wrong way. It is just the way things work in my view.

Siroes: you can rest assured that James will cone through. No need to worry. I think every member here who knows him will agree.

In a lot of cases that would be a good question yet James has already proven his self as very trustworthy on this forum.

I second that completely. I purchased 20 trees and I have no concerns whatsoever about receiving them. In fact, when I raised concerns about shipping to AZ in July (>110 F) he went above and beyond to say that we would work out a shipping date that would ship the trees in a safe temperature range. His cutting sale was awesome and his cuttings were extremely healthy and well packaged. I have no doubt the trees that we pre-ordered (crazy awesome cultivars for crazy awesome prices) will be the same.

I ordered five trees that I do not currently have and thanked Dave for his generous offer. You see
I have over 100 varieties and some cost me more than $150 a piece such as Col de Dame Gris and Noir when they were hot. At these prices you do the math.

Some restaurants charge you before you eat and some others charge you after. James is charging you before you eat at buffet prices. If you have doubts about the price, some of the best things in life are free. For example my Col de Dame Blanc was free and it is currently performing better than the Noir and Gris.

What are the risks? There is a chance that some cuttings don't make it and you don't get your order filled. This was addressed by James.

As far as the dates are concerned, I've had plants shipped to me (from other sources) in July when it was over 100 degrees outside and it did not bother them.

This got me to thinking;   I was just telling Chris that  I had to force myself not to peruse a seed company website near them, as my local haunt, the Sustainable Seed Co is headquartered 20 miles away from me...  and I hadn't yet finished out my wife-imposed 90-day addiction recovery program quite yet.

But, come to think about it, her intervention occurred shortly after I had a de-commissioned indoor soccer stadium trucked to my property to convert into a greenhouse...

Blue, someday I'll have to order your hedge.

Sas, let me know if you indeed want to try out the Kei Apple...    I can get some seeds dried for you.  (They are available commercially, but they're getting a dollar for just two seeds, that aren't much bigger than a fig seed!)

Just wanna take a second and let everyone know that if you use your credit card through PayPal, you will be protected for 180 days from PayPal AS WELL AS your credit card's policy. Most card companies will protect you up to the limit of "up to five months after the last possible delivery date of the item." We had dozens of people use this for a product that was almost a year and a half late on another forum, and I don't remember anyone have any difficulties getting their money back. Just good general knowledge to have, sounds like it won't be an issue here though.
