This one has started to ripen a few figs recently, only problem the bottom half ripens before the top half, but considering the rain it was very sweet and syrupy, not a lot of seeds though.  Last year the figs were about half the size so the dry summer and extra irrigation made them a lot bigger than what I thought they would be, or last year I did not water enough maybe.

had same issue with White Greek. bottom half gets ripe really well, but the top half is not. if i wait till top half ripens, the bottom half starts to turn weird. last one was really sweet, but the bottom dried out to a point some spots were like cardboard.

I wonder why that happens?  Some years it happens, some not.  Must be weather related?

Could be a calcium or magnesium deficiency

The next ones I have harvested have been better, about 7/8's of the fig are good, I'm thinking it must be the rain for me, the neck I still will not eat though, it's mostly flesh and not tasty.

The nice thing about this fig is that a nice drop of honey comes to the end when it's nicely ripe, sweet as honey so I am very happy for this, it just oozes out.

looks good
