If you have a working computer, you can easily recover the data yourself, unless the hard drive is damaged. Just determine what type the hard drive is (IDE, SATA, SATA2, etc.) and go to a site like Newegg.com where you can pick up an external hard drive case and a USB cable for around $30. Pop the hard drive in the case, plug it into your working computer, open Windows Explorer, find the drive and copy your files. If the hard drive is damaged, that's a whole differnt haircut.
