Gillette Fig First Crop

Here Is The First Crop Of My Gillette Fig

Thanks for showing picture.
I notice the prominent ribs display on the figs easy to see in your first picture.

Nice pics they look good and healthy

Dieseler I didn't pay much attention to the ribs on the figs, these are 2 pictures from last year they seem to lose the ribs later on as they got riper.

Dave;
A nice fig tree, my congrats.
Mine has not fruited yet.
I do have a special interest in 'Croisic' figs.

Beautiful and they look dee-lish!

George I do have some 2 year old trees if you think you need another?

Now I know why the sudden interest in Gillette in sales  :)

Can anyone pin-point out any physical difference between these two figs?
The second one is from (just bumped):

George,

It's hard to tell from those photos.  But it looks like the figs in the first picture have a white eye while the figs in the second photo look like they have a red eye.  The leaves look similar.  It could just be that the figs are at different stages of development.

Really cool to see this tree fruiting.

As I had mentioned, the original tree was removed shortly after I took the cuttings. Now if I could only acquire a copy!

Thanks Joe for your keen eyes!
My next question: Where is 'Waldo' ?
(... just kidding! ...)

some more photos

Hey Gorgi , leaves look a bit different in that the centre lobe looks a bit pointy as apposed to clover shaped .

Dave , that fig was picked way too early . I have the same tree and you have to let it wrinkle up like a prune . Probably a few more days , otherwise it's not worth eating at all .

John
