I have bought both cuttings and plants, but only after knowing who I am dealing with and generally have been pleased. People with real names, numbers and address are generally ok, stock photos and shady descriptions are bad news.

You can still order that variety from UC Davis.  Or, a member here might trade you.  I have purchased fig cuttings and rooted cuttings on Ebay from members here, and even some mystery sellers.  The only ones that were true were from members here.

So this is not a known member here? The newbies here, like me, need to know who to trust but I'd hate to dis someone just starting selling figs if it's legit. The "dwarf black violet madeira" sounds very fishy!

Gentleman Jack has clouded my mind, but if you search the forum, there are many threads that will state who the known Ebay sellers are.  I am sampling Gentleman Jack to be sure it won't kill anyone at our Superbowl Party.  This is a very important step in hosting a party!

Please just add that variety to your wish list.  $40 for cuttings is a little high.  $40.00 for a living plant is a start.
