Yep, IMO that is a Fig d'or.......is it any different from a Doree fig?? You be the judge.

Thank you Dan this is exactly why I asked that question I have doree from Baud and the leaves to resemble this fig. Hmmm think I need another season to make a judgement no figs on Doree yet to compare.

A couple of years ago, Reads Nursery over in England had pictures of their Doree fig and had it also listed under that same picture as Goutte D'or. They also had pictures (and still do now) of their Fig D'or. The two figs that Read's had posted on their website (one is no longer listed) did not look at all alike. They were quite different looking cultivars. IMO, this is the same cultivar (Fig D'or) that Nelson is growing and has pictured in his original post.

In short, according to "Read's Nursery" Doree is the same fig as Goutte D'or. And Nelson's fig is not either of those two. And according to Read's Nursery, Fig D'or is a much different cultivar. Both Read's Nursery and Baud have pictures right now on their websites of Nelson's fig and both call it Fig D'or.

Got it as a cutting about three or four years ago. They were two cuttings. Gave the other away long ago.

I have not viewed Mercato's website for quite a while and see that they now have some new varieties listed on their website. Looks like some confusion in the world of "d'or"......like what we have in the world of "celeste".

But, I do have an interest in these figs which have "d'or" in the name. I am always interested in what others have to say about these figs. That is why I read this thread.

We would all need to post pictures of both ripe fruit and leaves when available.  I have one that is still a small tree and in a gallon pot. It will not fruit for me this season.
