My Paradise Nursery fig trees

I bought most of my Paradise Nursery trees between 2002 and 2005. Sybil & Rob were really friendly and great people to deal with.
I have Golden Alma, Italian Golden Honey, Celeste and Violetta. I had Sandy's Strawberry Verte but lost it.

Scot,
Nice looking figs. Where do you live?

I live in Saratoga Springs NY. About a 2 1/2 hour ride north of NYC

Hi Scott
Great looking figs.
I'm so glad to see that someone else from Saratoga has figs! I thought I was the only one.
Vito

Nice trees Scott!!

very nice trees and figs

Scot get back to me in the fall I should have some Battaglia green cuttings from Paradise.

Rob.
Don't mean to step on your foot or anything (if I am), but . . .

Scot I will be auctioning off Battaglia Green trees as a donation to the Foundation as soon as it's warm. This is a variety that "started" at Paradise Nursery and is now in the fig collection at the Center for Historic Plants at Monticello. They will probably rename it after Folly Castle where it was planted for many years. This would be a more appropriate name in my opinion. But -- another time.

There is another member who's family has a lot more info then I do (and more history) but I haven't seen him post in a while.
Anyway if you are interested in another of Paradise Nursery's figs, I will offer several up for auction soon.

Thank you Rob & Michael

Thank you Rob and Michael for the heads up on the Battaglia Green. That name sounded familiar, so I went back to check my photos and guess what? I had purchased that tree from Paradise years back and somehow no longer have it. I honestly can't remember what happened to it, but I am looking forward to re-obtaining it. Thinking back, I do remember it was a tough one to get ripe up here in zone 5, but I did manage to get a couple every now and then. I have much better full sun southern exposure at my new house (as of October 2012), so it should be easier to ripen. Thanks guys. I'll keep an eye out.
