That looks great!! Who needs flowers!

That's awesome.   I love looking at your photos.  So much cool stuff going on here.  I wish I lived close by.

Man sure knows how to grow.

luke

Amazing!  Love the paint can planters!!
Suzi

Love it!  Enjoy the figs.

Ok, Kerry, what's your source on the big black pots?

Gonna need to trade in that wagon for a micro-car soon. Looks fantastic.

Great picts, great plants.  I noticed the double buckets, weight or humidity??

Really nice neighborhood.

Thx

BTW, what do you do with all the children in the winter?

Thx

A beautiful sight, I can never become tired looking at this view. All seedlings look beautiful including the one I got from you, thanks a lot Kerry.

Kerry:

I see you use the self watering pot set up. How often and what do you water/feed with?

Neither.  See:  http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/MA-Self-Watering-Containers-5367144

Looks great, but you know I going to bust your chops! ;-)

What happened to no no I don't want anymore, I have enough?

That Dominick comes to mind personally for me when i have to root prune each season some plants .
I say each season because there on a rotating basis and some always need it.

Thank you. :)

Hey , thanks for all the kind words.
Martin , I hear what you are saying about the root pruning task. I think all of the self watering 5 gallon containers could use it this Winter and there are 40 or more of those. The 25 gallon pots all need it too except for my only single trunk tree in the 3rd photo which is one of my  RDB  which was root pruned this past Winter..  I call that tree my Martin tree ,it doesn't look as good as yours , but I was inspired to try it by your nice looking trees.
Dominick , what can I say , mea culpa , although some of these are multiples for instance in the last photo in the top row all of those are Gino's Black. So I am not going for as many additional varieties as focusing on the ones I expect to do well here. I only have around 50 varieties not the 200 like you!
Dan , I use an organic potting mix with compost as a base and add extra lime , organic fertilizer called Pro-Gro, perlite and a little worm casting.
Usually I add 1/4 cup of Pro gro every other week as well and water with seaweed extract when the spirit moves me.
On a hot Summer day I usually water twice a day filling the resevoir and top watering a bit. The plants are mostly 3 years old and of decent size so they really can move some water. I need to set up a drip system on a timer once I really establish consistant pot locations after thinning the herd a little.
Danny K they overwinter in the barn basement which is bermed with soil on three sides and bermed with snow on the other. At 20F below zero winter nights it is 22F to 25F in that basement , mostly it stays around 30 to 35.
Jason , I went down to F&M Tool and Plastics in Leominster, Ma and bought a pallet and a half of these pots. I don't think they make them anymore , but they still make the barrel that Bill of Bills Figs fame uses.

BLB , everybody needs flowers. I have to have at least a few of those April in Paris and Spencer Supreme sweet peas growing out of a crate on one of the benches. The fragrance is wonderful the stems are long and sturdy and they don't mind hanging intead of climbing. Best of all my wife loves them.

Drivefarmer sounds like you have an excellent storage facility for your plants .
Your plants look wonderful and very happy.

Thanks Martin.
Yes I feel fortunate to have a place to put them for the Winter.
Getting them in and out for the fig shuffle is a problem.
I need to look up the thread with the particular temps and dates you use to start the fig shuffle so I can be more on top of it next season.

Kerry
These are stunning pictures. I hope all of these perform good for you so would not have to make hard decision which baby to get rid of.
Thanks for posting these (and similarly by some others) because it helps me a lot with my family to have patience with my fig plants hobby.

That is great Akram. So you can really get them to look at the fig forum photos and say" this guy is worse than me" ?
Just be sure to tell them that many of these are from cuttings from you.

Hi Kerry
I think that looks great!!!
I wish I lived close by so I can visit you and show my wife that I am not crazy
Vito

Kerry, that is fantastic. You have done a great job, they are beautiful.

Kerry,
I already had said that!   But no one here agreed though.

If two people are crazy about the same thing, does that make them both sane? This does not compute. ;) ;)
