PIX: Ischia Green USDA/UCD

second fig of the yr. bland. good looking fig. don't have anything to it, no taste what so ever. and it was not rained on. it stayed under porch since it was rooted spring of 2012. maybe it's lacking the sun? one more yr and it's going into burning hell of 50 gal (well.. i don't burn things on this property, so the city trash can).

Pete, nice pics, hopefully it will improve next year. I have a White Genoa that was bland the first year but really improved the next.

 Pete

Definitely get it used to the sun slowly but surely.  Hopefully there are more figs on it that will ripen in the sun so you get the best it has to offer.

Pete,

What size container and what is the media used to grow the tree?

chris, it's 2nd yr cutting/tree, first time putting on the figs. it's in 1 gal with 50/50 perlite and seedling soil. i didn't up pot this one since it was runt. i had 2 Ischia Green from USDA/UCD that i kept. wasn't thinking much about it since they were having hard time growing. i more or less left them to see what happens to them. it was a surprise this one has fig that was swelling. other one has few figs on it too, but hasn't swell yet.

i'll be moving this one to 3 gal soon to test what it will taste like next yr.
