Is there or has there ever been a Texas fig meet?  If no, if I did all the work and set everything up could we get participation?  Would the Louisiana delegation come to East Texas for a get together??

I would like to do this!  I am very active in the city here and have already discussed the possibility with others.

You come up here for the first one, and I'll come down there for the second one.  Of course you will have to do all the work for the second one, LOL

All great places, but, I can't set everything up from here, and, I don't have the "contacts" that I have here.  If we can do it, lets do it.  Hampton Inn/Comfort Inn $79.00 current pricing here, no traffic, and free parking.  If it is on, I will be there, anywhere this side of El Paso, or Brownsville, LOL

I'm in! Can't we just camp out in among the figs in your yard? It will keep the birds and squirrels away :) How many folks were you thinking of rustling up and when?

Don't know how many, when, or where, only formative thinking at this point.  I have volunteered to do all the work if we do it here in Marshall.  Interesting point, I submit that Marshall may have the most non-commercially grown fig trees in the world, I have found 31 trees, in and within, 3 miles of the city, that is a lot for a town of 23,000 or so people.

I would suggest as soon as possible, with the preferred day being a second Saturday.  You can camp in my yard or living room floor, LOL.

Like a lot of people I now seem to think of the "world" as the places closest to me.  That used be considered "ugly american" thinking, LOL

Found 6 more trees today between here and Longview, went different route.

I don't know about everyone else but my schedule is fairly open with the following qualifiers;

Sept may be too soon, Oct is pretty much out.

Well then Mr Fig Hunter how about Sept. 22? Is there a month in between we don't know about just in Marshall? ;)

No extra month, merely suggesting that maybe Nov or later might be better, also knew about the Louisiana event being held. I would suggest that we poll the crowd and find out when best fits.
