I see in lots of places that Vasilika Sika is translated as king and queen,
but in reality the Greek fig "Vasilika Sika " is translated as Royal Figs.

The king & queen translates "vasilias & vasilisa" in Greek

Please change it to the right translation

There is also the "White Vasilika Sika " which they say that is even better by far!


These are even bigger then the regular vasilika sika and superior
If I go to Greece this summer , I will bring back some cuttings to share with you all , I have family in Greece that have that kind

Well,indeed Vasile,is a nobil old name,and it does have ,a greek origine,meaning exactly that:a nobil honest good person of Royal ancestry.
Also in the bizantine ortodox,religion,,Saint Vasile(Basilius),in old Latin,is comemorated every year,on January first.
In eastern Europe Vasile,Name is just as Common as John,and George.

Well our Vasile certainly lives up to his name!  BTW, do you like these figs?

Well the ,White  Vasilika Sika,I have,very small plant but it made a handfull of fruits just like the pix above,with very dark red interior,and ,very high quality taste and flavor.

The first pix,does not show the outside color of those figs but I suspect,they are bronze on outside and it could be a Smirna type,or  common,similar to San Pietro,But Bronze outside not white.

Then I'm going to have to add it to my wish list  :)

Mine has given figs a few times. I finally air layered it and hope to propagate it.

BTW, I WILL not change the name as mine came from Belleclaires and this is how they named it, regardless of anything else, it is the plant tag from Belleclares.

I believe the point of this thread is not to change the name; just to inform the correct English translation for the name.

I guess I meant that it is what is on the tree tag, that is why the incorrect translation has, for lack of a better word, propagated.
