a couple of ebooks

I was bored so I took some web pages of figs that were translated and made ebooks out of them. Some of them still have their searching capability.

Nice job, the files will make a nice reference. Thanks

I'll get them added to the Links List - which is up to about 400 links now.

Added today as PDFs for Link No. 653

AFB, thanks for taking the time to search out and then post the info here. That is some very interesting reading and reinforces some of the things I've learned here. The one part I found extremely interesting is the parts on grafting, especially the one tree with many different varieties on it. I have a Celeste that I was going to get rid of last year. I had read in other places about grafting figs and had thought about doing exactly that but didn't know if it would work. I think I know where I'm heading now.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for serving our country.  May God bless you and keep you safe.

Grafting figs, who woulda thunk it. I can see where this is going. First one to a 100 variety tree let us know. I heard of a citrus with 100 but a fig would be more fun. I can't think that of all those 100 citrus that all of them would be fit to eat but Jon alone can come up with 100 figs that are.

Imagine all the plant tags all over the tree to identify which branch is what!

Imagine 10 years later when the tree has outgrown the tags, or one or two get knocked off ... nobody will ever know what kind of fig it is :)

Furthermore, imagine trying to ID such a plant...what is the original strain?!  Who would ever know.  Speaking of adding to the fig confusion.... ;)

No problem I just like collecting ebooks. So I decided to share

Very interesting links afb. Thanks for taking the time.

As the old saying goes "there's more than one way to root fig cuttings". Well ok, not an old saying....yet.

I especially liked the link on the chip budding. I tried a little chip budding as well as some cleft grafting on a couple avacado trees when I lived in FL. Didn't have any successes but only tried a couple.

Bass has some really good whip & tongue grafting info on his site. I'd like to try that method on some paw paw trees once I get a couple good cultivars to work with.

Here's Bass's grafting page- http://www.treesofjoy.com/grafting.htm
