A dead cutting from last year...

......or is it? I know someone posted a similar topic - I couldn't find it to add to it.

I planted a few cuttings last July or so from my in ground LSU Purple.  I didn't do anything to it - cut it and stuck it in a pot.  I think they grew a bit then died.

I admit I am a bit a of a procrastinator with some things, like taking care of the garden this past year - cleaning up, throwing out - you know the regular maintenance.  With Glenn's health issues and getting the puppy things just didn't get done - oh well!

Here's what I have from not throwing out the dead stuff hanging around in pots.

Yay!

Don't ya just love figs ? :)))

I DO love figs!!  I was so surprised when I saw this thing leafing out!  Maybe it's from the ton of rain we've been getting the last 2 weeks.  I'm just thrilled since it is already potted;)

Always hold onto potted sticks that are not showing growth for a long as you can stand it, some are very slow indeed to show growth. Happy you discovered this truth

one suggestion, don't water what looks like a dead fig tree. it will only rots faster. i've done that few times. it keeps on coming back.. and last time i watered it, it died for good x)
