George I'm no expert but it looks like the LSU Golds I've seen and eaten. I agree, a very good fig. I don't think I welcomed you to the forum yet so here is a very big welcome. Looking forward to you experiences down under.

I think its an old fig and has large open eye

George, I've seen some late season LSU Golds with open eyes. But you may be right if its been there for a long time.

LSU Gold figs have a similar shape; however, they do not have red eyes. Your fig does looks delicious.
