A few pics and a labeling suggestion

Good Sunday morning.
I got a chance to throw some fertilizer on the fig plants and Mother Nature watered it in and now the sun is shinning and birds are chirping.  So far this is a good day!

I want to share a few pictures, ask a question, and make a suggestion.
Pictures...
I've been reading about pinching results.  Here are a couple of mine.

I might actually get to taste a fig.  This is one of the plants I overwintered in the basement.

Adding new varieties.  I figure the sooner I start them, the sooner there will be ripe figs to pick.

Here's my question.  I've searched the files and read that certain figs at certain times will have either red veining or red coloring on new leaves that goes away after the leaves get larger.  I noticed this after I applied fertilizer (homemade mix of lime, Azomite, fish meal, alfalfa, bone meal, a little DE).  Is there any consensus if this is something that just happens or it's related to fertilizer application or certain varieties tend to have this?  Just wondering what others have experienced.

And here's the suggestion.  Nothing that somebody with 200 plants could do, but...
I like to keep notes on individual plants, and this is what I've come up with to combine a label with notes for individual plants.  When it's time to pass the plant on, the little plastic bag can be cut off and the plant will still be labeled. (The cardboard goes in between the two sides of the tape so that when you write on it, the indentation stays on one side and the little plastic bag gets attached leaving a little bare spot of aluminum tape.)
I just realized the plastic bag isn't in the first picture.  It's the one that's the same size as a business card.

Please forgive me for being too lazy to go back to the original post, but I wanted to thank the person who suggested finding an app to date your pictures.  This is much quicker than using a camera.

I also found out today that if you use Paint to open your pictures that are too large (another tidbit from another member), you can resize down to 25% and the pictures still look good.

A big thank you to this forum.  I spend a crazy amount of time reading through the new and old posts and I feel like I've learned a lot from this community.  It never would have occurred to me that I'd be able to graft a plant until I read about it here.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Good job. Looks like you are having lots of fun. :)

I've got it really bad, but there are much worse obsessions people can have.

Thanks

love the labeling idea! Thanks for sharing with us.

Batch Photo Wizard (another iphone app) can resize your photos and add your watermark on multiple photos at once.

Red tips form more readily and maybe solely on dark fig trees.  Cold can increase their prominence.  Not sure of other factors.

Thank you, kind sir!
