A Few Pics to Share and Personal Observations

I just took some pictures for record keeping and wanted to share. weather has been in the 80's - 90's nights in low 70's for past 3 wks or so
Blk Unknown in ground 2 yr old was in 3gal pot until planted in March a few breba and main crop forming

VDB main crop forming no breba

unknown yellow(sweet yellow) leafed out but no figs showing YET had some fruit last year so we will see

BMVS strong grower nice branching and compact main crop showing

Conadria fast grower whip like will prune hard next year main crop showing no breba

Blk unknown potted very few breba main crop just forming but tree looks full and branching well

LSU Gold whip like growth no breba main crop showing will prune hard next year

Improved Celeste had 6 breba all fell off main crop showing whip like growth will prune hard next year or discard if it doesn't hold fruit this year

And here is Fig Row as my wife calls it

Thanks for looking. All of these trees were root pruned and potted up except the BMVS they are only 1-2 seasons old. I probably could have waited to root prune and pot up(MY BAD) I think this is why there is a lack of breba in potted figs. The blk U/K planted in ground no root work and the smallest of My Blk U/K has breba and all the blk U/K had breba last season. This is just my observation. Now I need to hope that they hold on to their main crop figs since roots were trimmed.

Sal lovely looking plants looks like you will be eating some great figs this year, thanks for posting the pics.

Totally awesome Sal!  Totally awesome!  My fig row is full now.  I'm having to place my LSU Purple in the ground today.  It's just a very fast growing tree!  Like you, I have a pool and now that our last child just graduated from college I'm leaning towards getting rid of the pool and building a huge greenhouse.  As long as it is pretty and fancy looking, my wife might buy off on it.  Again, great looking figs!  How bout those figs!!  Dennis

Hi Sal,
once again thanks for sharing pictures of your fig plants please keep them coming it gives me something to look forward to and hope one day.  ; )

FL seems to be an other fig-heaven (outside).
I also notice some figs growing inside your nice
'domed/moist' swimming-pool....

Looking great, are you planning on putting any in the ground eventually or all they all going to stay potted?

Dennis how bout them figs. I joke some times about filling in pool and planting fig trees but this time of year with the heat quickly changes my mind. Thanks to all for looking and commenting. nelson I'm looking forward to tasting my first VDB, BMVS, and possibly a SAL C yes George I think I see little figlets will know in a few weeks and update. My Black Madeira is slow going to say the least but am hoping it will kick start soon.

jsvand5 i might put a few more in ground but will have to be selective as I only have room for maybe 3-4. The Conadria was very good so that might be one as I have a small start going also and VDB might be another. I will still have some large potted ones as I like the effect on patio and well I don't have to worry about varmints.
