A hopeful Sign of Things To Come

Was looking at a few plants in the garage and said to my self cant wait till spring as some folks have been saying recently.
Anyhoot came in house and the dogs wanted to go in yard open the door to let them out and first noise i heard was a Cardinal making his call as he was sitting on top of one of the power lines.
Hopefully for some of us the snow starts to subside we get more sunny days and our plants start to respond to the spring once again. Go away snow and cold.

Martin,
When I looked at all the snow dumping yesterday, I couldn't imagine there was going to be an end to it.
And today, the weather is gorgeous, sun is bright, temperature in the upper 40's. Snow is melting, birds are singing, people dig their driveways and their cars from under the snow, kids snowboarding (schools are still closed)... It almost feels like spring.
Spring will be here before we know it...
Circle of life... :)

Yeah right!

I heard my local Cardinal "serenading" in Jan (it was a 43*F day!).
Also same this week; a day before I just got dumped with
~12-18" of snow (I just finished the shoveling - ouch for my back!).
Cardinal birds seem to be somewhat impatient (for love!).

During the snow storm, I observed many birds flying
past my house. On a close examination, they were
a mix of Starlings and Robins going to a precious food source;
a street tree (nearby - name unkown) still loaded with berries.
They also did make a big mess on the side-walk.

It doesn't look anything like spring at all here in these darn beautiful mountains, George i'm surprised you's didn't get more snow. We have 40 inches of this and the city is still paralized.  I know we are in Solar spring now, which is good, the sun is getting stronger, we just pray it doesn't get too hot or all this snow will flood this city, I worry about relations in Johnstown, Pa with well over 40 inches of snow, they are the infamous " Flood City" which was completely destroyed on different occassions by floods.  JThis will be a nightmare.  I knocked at least a 8 ft chunk of ice hanging off the side of house, if that would have came down on one of us, we would be Morto!!!!!!!!!!!!

The cardinal is my favorite bird, I remember when I first saw a cardinal, I fell in love with them ever since, I have a couple of them on my front porch, they come to visit me.
