A large tree needs to be planted

Evidently it is energy efficient to shade the house from the south sun, and we are taking out two ginormous trees that are messy and leaning.  One will be replaced with an outdoor kitchen/bbq/smoker, but the other will be a fast growing fig.

Suggestions?  Which ones grow fastest?

Black Mission, Panache, Strawberry Verte are all vigorous growers. Reportedly, Brown Turkey is too, but . . .

Thanks Jon!  We have a nightmare ahead, but, I have two Panache in one gallon.

Ronde and Black Mission i can say grow fast Ronde grew the fastest.
Panache the slower of the above 2 in our yard but did well.

I want to kill my PANACHE. It is loaded with FMV, so bad the leaves curl. I didn't even bother protecting it... I will be shocked if it is alive. I hope to find suckers that are more healthy so I can chop up the rest.

Jon has great suggestions!

Jenny, you live in extreme conditions.  Panachee is aggressive here in So California.  Not so elsewhere.  I do have RdB, so, it's a toss up!  But I was thinking Jon's seedling "Raspberry Latte" might do the trick.

How about Desert King, Col de Dama blanc is supposed to grow with high vigor but I don't know that first hand, plus you could have lots of figs to dry or make jam of excellent quality.

Chivas, I do have Coll De Dama Blanc cuttings trying to root.  And I have desert king, but it's Breba only, right?

Suzi

It is only Breba for King, but if you have the wasp you can have a main crop (I read it was not very good but I have never tried them.)  Col de Dama Blanc is only a main crop as well though, although I am guessing much tastier.  I also agree that RdB would be a great one, early but only main crop.  Although can you really go wrong with a Massive Mission with both brebas and main crop of tasty figs?  I am assuming that your climate is good to ripen the Brebas, but I don't know.
