A little surgery on some Jolly Tigers

I have 2 Jolly Tigers that are trying to revert back to all green

#1 tree has no variegated leaves at all so I dug down around the trunk and saw some nice striping on the trunk below the soil level so I cut the top of the tree off hoping that the bud on the stripe part of the wood part will be variegated when it pops

Tree 2 has a variegated leave at the bottom but the top is trying to revert back so I knocked the top off just above the variegated leave hoping the lower bud will b variegated when it pops

I'll post some pictures when the new buds pop and see what happens

Hi Dave,
Those trees are trying to survive . Aren't you afraid to kock them totally ?
If those were mine I would let them grow as is.
For me once the trees have more energy and more sun hits them - variegation on variegated plants shows up more when sun hits them directly-, new leaves will be variegated.
Of course, the trees are yours and so is their destiny :)
