a new breed Figato

I finally was able to cross a tomato with a fig. You can grow them from seeds or cuttings. I'll be listing them on ebay.

what does it taste like bass?

is it a seasonal plant like  a tomato or will it go dormant in winter as a fig would?

UH HUH!!!!!!!

Can you add a little eggplant in there too?

New Photoshop (crap) killing olde traditional [trusted] photo ways...

Do you have any figucumbers?  So now we also have to know if the figs are determinate or indeterminate.

April Fool's Day was a couple weeks ago, if I recall correctly, but my memory may have been photoshopped.

Figato pizza.

Well... Almost. :)

Is this the low acid variety?

When I saw the thread title I thought I'd be seeing a fig/cat cross

Funnily enough the guys down at the local pizza joint just asked me the other week to bring some figs in when the season comes so they can make a couple of fig pies.

My wife actually had a fig and goat cheese pizza appetizer thing at some fancy restaurant she ate at a couple months ago.  Didn't get a chance to try it myself.  But I bet it would be good, as long as you didn't ruin it with goat cheese.

while on the subject, here is fig empanada  & foie gras with arugala salad and serrano ham....served in a cuban restaurant in south beach, miami - delicious!

I can see it now. Chef Boyardee with Figmato Sauce. There's a fortune to be made. I'll bet that it would be figlicous.

Maybe I'm weird

BUT

I can see where a sliced warm fresh picked summer tomato, some thick sliced hickory smoked bacon, cold crisp lettuce and the rich taste of Figs balanced with just the right dressing maybe even some young fresh spinach leaves on a lightly toasted Ciabiata bread could go well together!
