A nice tasty fig

This is a Verte, it has dark green skin with dark red pulp. It is an excellent tasting fig, the inside is like jam.

All I have to say is WOW.

Bass, do you have a JH Adriatic to compare to?

Is vert the same as strawberry vert?

A fig grower here in my town is growing this Verte, it's over 15' tall, but he protects it well. It is rip before my Adriatic(ucdavis) and Bataglia green. I'm not sure if it's the true Verte, but it is identical to Verte description. Other varieties that are similar are Verdal, and some greeks.

afigfan...I was wondering the same thing.  What other names, if any, does VERTE, go by??  I am suspecting it is NOT the same as Strawberry Verte??

I just went and looked up the info on F4F varieties page:
VERTE  SYN: GREEN ISCHIA, ISCHIA GREEN, NEW VERTEISCHIA GREE, VERDAE, COEUR, FIGUE D'ESPAGNE

Did not find any other SYN for Strawberry Verte.

That certainly is a perty fig!!!

It is pretty soft when ripe, some figs have cracks in its skin.
