A strange seedling

Unusual colors for a Portuguese fig.
Very sweet, crunchy and with flavors of wild thyme honey.
No name yet. Pulp remembers a juicy caramel!!

Wow, what unusual but lovely colors!  The pulp actually does look like molten caramel or molasses.

Looks amazing.  Hope to see more about it in the future.

Mouth is watering! I can imagine the taste! When you say seedling though, did you really grow it from a seed? Pretty cool.

It's a beauty Francisco.

Thank you all for you appreciation.

David,
This is already an established tree aged over ten or twelve years, started from a seed left by a bird, rodent..(?)
Apart from the winter and/or spring rains, this fig receives no irrigation at all.
There is a very high concentration of sugars and its ´koala' brown skin is one of the hardest I have ever seen on figs.

Beautiful!  Since it's a seedling you should name it   :)

very interesting characteristics all together.

I like the bronze skin and molasses guts.... wow!

Very cool. Can you post any pics of the tree?

Great find Francisco, interesting colors specially pulp. Do you think this was caprified?

Francisco, this one looks like the fig of all figs, the color is impressive but more important is the taste. Great find!

What an amazing fig! Nice find Francisco.

Thank you ALL for commenting on this post.

Bob,
It has to have a name. I am trying to contact the owner of the land who will decide on that. I may eventualy help!

nycfig,
Well, see now additional pictures in this post to respond to your interest.

Nelson,
Hi! Will soon wash a pulp sample to find out what type of seeds are these.

Camacho,
Muito Obrigado. If you are willing to try this wild variety, I may arrange for some scions to be sent to you.

Here are some more photos of the tree and figs.

Caramel would be a great name, it looks amazing!

Nelson,
Here the pictures telling us what has in fact happened.
These are the seeds from the two figs shown on my hand.
Practically 100% sunk.
But I am convinced that the fig is a Common type.
