I was out looking at the fig plants.
The desert king which I obtained from Adriano last year has had two main crop figs on since about mid june. They have always looked like they would fall off at any moment, always a bit rubbery to the touch.
Today, looking at them, I thought, geese that one has gotten a lot bigger.
I gave it a little squeeze, it was soft and it split, revealing pinkish flesh inside and some seeds. I ate it. taste was mild not very figgy, and a little sweet. The other is still as soft and rubbery as ever, still looking like a strong wind will knock it off.
As the plant was obtainded from Adriano, I am pretty sure it is a Desert King, but surprised that at this late date it gives a ripe main crop fig.
