A tale of two figs.

The season have started to change here in STL. Most of the leaves from the shade trees have fallen two weeks ago. My VdB lost all of its leaves three weeks ago. Last week, we had a good frost. And again today, the cars and lawn are frosted over. But Mary Lane still have all of her leaves. I'd like to put them in the garage but Mary Lane is not cooperating. She will not take here nap. She is driving my crazy.

Tuesday, they think it will get down to 29.

Maybe just put her in the garage during the storm?

Suzi

I took all mine in last week. There were a few that refused to go to sleep as well.
But they too went inside.

Every year I have a fig or two that refuse to cooperate but they go inside regardless and bounce right back the following spring.

Just keep them watered only enough to keep the roots wet. Mine get watered just about every ten days to two weeks.  Just a small amount though.

Usually you can tell if the soil is dry just by looking at it or just touch it. If it feels moist then there's no need to water.

Good luck

Last year I took all my plants in early before Dormancy because of Halloween snowstorm. All cam back next year with no problems. Your fine.

i put all mine in last week also. and most of them are dropping leaves now. had my windshield frosted twice since.
