1: our gardening budget is destroyed
2: We've used more plastic wrap in the last month than in the last 2 years
3  Same with aluminum foil
4: Same with packing tape
5: I find myself drinking spring water solely so I can use the bottle
5: The landscaping we paid a mess of money for has been completely invaded by figs
6: She's tired of me staring at plants
7: She's tired of me posting to "some stupid fig board"
8: I've spent hours reviewing pruning shears
9: Some of the wildlife that likes to eat figs have mysteriously disappeared.
10: I say hello to my figs when I get home from work before I say hello to her.

I love phone scrabble! (words with friends). And figs. I have a few addictions.

LOL Pretty funny stuff Tim. Our wives have to put up with a lot. I complain sometimes, but honeslty she's pretty tolerant. It's not just figs with me either I have a lot of succulents and other house plants. 

Aren't we an odd lot, and yet we find spouses who will tolerate us. Mine says she can more easily put up with these shenanigans than if I were to plunk down in front of some sporting event on TV.

Im lucky in the wifey department she just smiles.
She even helped me today fix a box for shipping a plant !

Although she does not eat figs only thing she asks is not to get the plants in her way in the garage where the branches can hit her cause it gets crowded during dormant season.

Yep, all I can say is at least they know where to find us. In the yard.

I think it is common wives hates gardens because we are obsessed with our gardens. I  decided to build home made green house and she hates the idea. She told me every tomato or a fig you get from te garden cost us $10 which is not true. I  am guilty I  spend too much time in the garden and talking tothe fig trees. She thinks I am crazy.

My wife loves fresh figs, so no problems. The minor complain is I am messy and too slow to clean up my rooting mess.

same here.. same reasons.. tho, my wife is starting to eat the figs. she's actually enjoying them :) she finally agrees that my figs are better than the fruits from the store. no pesticide, no harmful chemicals. i even remove bugs by hand. come spring, i might plant some in the ground.

Well, I have the opposite problem, but my husband does a good job of spraying and moving pots around, so he's helpful even though he's addicted to golf and fishing.  I love those long fishing trips and the "guilt money," that goes with them :-)

I jump around from one hobby to the next,they get so confuse, she leave you alone.

Last year I had 270' of tomatoes, 180' of okra, 540' of beans and peas. At one point we had over a thousand tomatoes on tables scattered around the living room and kitchen waiting to be canned!

I didn't plant this year and I can do anything I want. She's so happy she doesn't have to pick and put up anything since the freezer and pantry are still stocked.

I tell my wife that it keeps ougoof the bar's,she doesn't think that's funny.But I work at a nuke plant and it's just nice to come to my garden,and hang out with my fig trees.

I'm guilty of many of those too but not number 10. Musn't keep the Mrs. waiting.
