A tribute to Dr. O'Rourke and the Fig program at LSU

This is a good read, and I think a "must read" for all fig lovers.

I am not a LSU alumni, resident, or even like it (mostly due to the tuition we pay for girl child) but no one can deny the impact of Dr. O'Rourke and his research descendants on our little world.

That was a great read. RIP Ed!

Great Read Thanks for posting.

Lovely memorium.

i really enjoyed this

Great article!

A man ahead of his time.

Nice article.  I bought Dr O'Rourke's book that he wrote with the author of the article in the link.  I was hoping he would write about his fig breeding program at LSU, but he didn't have much to say about figs in the book.  He wrote some general information about figs, not mentioning any varieties he developed.  The book is titled Gardening in the Humid South.
