Abebereia looking good

Showing some FMV, but there are 2 nice figs on the way.  Looks like a couple more may form soon as well.  I rooted this early 2013.  Placed in 5 gallon SIP this year.  Can't wait to taste them!

Looks good Frank. Hope you get to taste them.

The leaves don't appear too bad other than some discoloration. At least they're not distorted beyond recognition like a couple that I had.

Very nice Frank.

This is a 'must have' fig...I love it !

Those look SO good, Frank. I got so excited to see them, that I went out and checked my Abebereira, and found figlets! The plant has been growing vigorously and I thought it wasn't wanting to fruit, but it is starting. You'll be tasting before I will, and I'll be looking forward to your report. Happy to hear Marius rave also. Here are some pics of mine. IMG_2959.JPG  IMG_2953.JPG  IMG_2957.JPG

Beautiful tree, Gary!  Surprisingly, this variety is about 3 weeks ahead of everything else I have, pots and ground included.

Frank, are the two figs you show brebas or main crop?  It looks like they are growing from lignified wood.  Anyway, they look really good.

These are main crop, Steve.  It was about 6" tall before this year's growth.

Gary, glad to see you've taken great care of that tree!! :)

I should get plenty of fruit from my two in-ground trees this year, will check for fruit status when I get a chance.

Absolutely, Harvey. It's the one I am really looking forward to trying ( along with 20 or 30 others ;-)) It's come along great since I got it from you last December. For those who may not know it, Harvey offers awesome plants! The branches that are starting to fruit are the ones I pinched 2 or 3 weeks ago. Same story on Excel, Strawberry Verte, MBVS, and several others. Unpinched branches on same plants are not showing figlets yet. I'm a believer.

My 3 years old Abebereira, and some figlets.....

I agree, Gary.  Pinching absolutely encourages figs and branching.

Marius, that is some great growth for 3 years.  Thank you for the pictures.
