Picked my one and only Abebereira today. It's a very good looking fig, medium in size, closed eye and elongated. The taste is very good, sweet, figgy, but again 1 fig is not enough to give it a fair description. I also give it a thumbs up.

First I want to welcome jtw to the forum. I see you found the thread which is a year old and I assume you did so by reading a lot of the older posts. That is a good way to educate yourself quickly and good for you. The Abebereira I got from a forum member but now it is available from the owner of this site, Jon Verdick. I will not have any cutting available this year off this tree or I would share them freely. I got to taste a couple of figs off of it this year but they were less than perfect as we had constant rain during the ripening process. The good thing about them is they didn't split but then they were rather washed out tasting. I wish you luck in getting cuttings or a tree and if not maybe next year I will have cuttings available.
