above 32 starting this sat!

looking at the monthly weather, the temp will go above 32 at night starting this sat. i was going to wait till it goes above 40, but.. what the heck. i'm leaving everything out of the garage starting this sat. give them some water, fertilizer, lime.. let them live a little :)

We hit 50 last week. Tonight it will be in the single digits.

rafed, the weather has been up and down here too. tonight and next two days will be low 20. but looks like it will be well above 32 from there on. maybe day or two at 31 for few hours in the morning and staying at above 50 during the day. trees at least 1 yr or older should be fine at that temp. time to up pot this weekend or next.

All I can say is I am tired of this winter, Pete.
Done with it!

It's been brutal. Been in this Country for almost 40 years and I don't ever recall this happing.

I bet you that 'Dude' in San Diego is getting a kick out of it. You know who I'm talking about, right?

yeah.. the guy who keeps talking about west coast being the paradise :)

Thats good Pete.
Can you send that warm weather to Illinois ?

Another Polar Vortex is with us .
Plus
Another 6 - 10 inches of snow coming this weekend.

Pete, not so fast my friend. You usually get the same weather I have here for the most part. Its going to warm up starting Sat but
then we suppose to be cold again for another two weeks. I hope you are right and our weather forecasters are wrong. LOL

Warmest day of the next 10 day forecast high of 38 (Day). High of 25 (Night). I'm soooo done with Winter. NJ zone 6

mike, i hope accuweather is right :) i'm just looking for 32 and higher this yr. in 2012, i waited till 40, last yr 50... this yr, as long as it's above freezing, 1 yr and older are venturing out there. new cuttings that are still young are holding off till 50. older cuttings in 1 gal at 40... i'm getting them out there early this yr :)

Rafed, I hear ya man. I'm over it also. Tomorrow is supposed to have a high of 16 and a low of 1.

I think your jumping the gun. There's still a lot of cold air around and the great lakes are more frozen than they've been in 30 years. That's going to allow some pretty potent rushes of artic air south in the next month. GFS model is showing lows of 23 in Charlotte and 21 in Raleigh on the mornings of March 5th and March 6th and days below freezing in both cities through March 11th. As much as it pains me to say, winter isn't done yet for NC.

Here a good link to the model.

com'on. power of positive thinking!

I'm wondering if the Great Lakes being ice covered is going to delay spring or summer heat hitting the Mid-Atlantic and NE. Might be hard to ripen figs?

Barely above freezing in the next 10 days here in SE PA.

I'm surrounded by the Great Lakes and I have a Dogwood in my backyard that has its' buds forming.
Yes, it's still cold but nature knows best. The buds form in these spear shapes every winter this time of year. Regardless of how cold it is.

You should be able to notice some of the buds on your figs starting to swell if you are in the north and still dealing with these extreme temps.

Spring is around the corner folks.

You'll all be happy to know it's 56 degrees and raining here in Southern California.  I think the storm is raining all over the west, up to Washington state.  I hope the mountains get some snow.

Suzi

Yea, I wouldn't leave the trees out just yet.  I'm willing to bet you'll see below 32 randomly until April.  I hope you're right though.
