Yes action does speak louder than words...Pump 410 action that is!

I nailed two this morning but the wife was in one photo and she told me if I knew what was good for me not to post that one.

I know a certain fella down in Florida having a similar problem with coons.  Hope this ends your problem ;)

Luak,

I can use your dog ( indefinitely ).

Luak,

I saw what you said the other day about the squirrel (before you deleted it)

You say there is an easier way? Why don't you bring yourself down here and show me just how someone such as yourself would go about doing that!!

I thought the 410 way was humane way...The frikkin coon never knew what hit hit him/her (hopefully it was a "her" full of coon babies.

Edit.......I removed one word and added "yourself"

Maybe something like (dead raccoon photo) should be in the thread title so anyone thinking what was inside this thread is fig related will not be so "surprised". I know that would kinda mess up the "actions speak louder than words part", but to be honest I don't get the joke anyway. What do words have to do with this? I am sure Billy, Ol' Dan and Little Anne would be proud, look out for mountain lions and keep your axe sheathed! Peace.

Brent

I re did the subject line....I hope it meets with your approval

Thank you, I don't want to tromp on your rights at all, just looking out for those who are sensitive to that sort of thing, not everyone will speak up.
We trap almost a hundred every year tearing up corn, so I understand that this sort of thing has to be done. There will be more though (they tend to be communal feeders), I'd set a trap with sardines to get any stragglers.

Since wearing animal fur is no longer in vogue, the raccoon population throughout North America has steeply risen.  A few years ago there was a locally widespread (oxymoron) incidence of rabies that affected many coons.  I found two coons, on separate occasions, wandering my homestead during daylight hours, and subsequently shot them.  Not on the menu, however.

Presently, the coyote population has increased to the point that they keep the coons under control, along with woodchucks, deer, possums, and porcupines.  But I'll be honest, hearing coyotes howl on a winter's night, makes the hair on my neck stand straight up and chills run down my spine.  I'd hate to be caught out in the woods alone, without a firearm for protection.

Udaman,

I'm with you on killing the pesty raccoon!

They eat or destroy the gardens around here, then they break my fig tree limbs getting to the ripe figs!  Not to mention what a genuine PITA they are as a whole!

So for EVERYONE'S information.......I WILL continue to shoot and kill any that is stupid enough to enter our place!

regards,

I second that.
I have lost a couple of cockatoos to coons.

Cecil,
When you have exhausted your supply, I'll hire you to take care of mine.

HAHA, Hi Cathy,

It will be a while before I have exhausted my supply of the good for nothing things around here!

But I really appreciate your comment

Regards

Rafed i also have a cat for the night shift. No more chipmunks, packrats, snakes, grasshoppers, flying squirls and some regular squirls sometimes. No guns needed.

Luak,

Sure wish Bush ( Siamese Cat ) was still around. He was a very good cat. But when Mylo ( Siberian Husky ) came he packed up and left.

Looked for him all over with no luck.

This was long time ago but if I had to choose between the two it would have been Bush to stay home.
