Adriano Fig

On my last visit to Adriano's I was able to take pics of his Adriano fig.

The flavor of this fig is outstanding.

Enjoy

If that fig tastes as good as it looks I need to add to my wish list:)
Do you know if it is cold hardy?

Wow, that's a beautiful fig and looks very tasty. "Adriano Fig" is the name of the fig?

I can air layer one for you Nelson. I used to have 2 trees. Gave one away some yrs back. It is
a hardy one, no winter protection.

Pino it tastes better than it looks. Seems to be fairly hardy.

otmani007- Yes Adriano is the name of this fig its a mutation or sport of Pingo de Mel.

Hey Paul does your Adriano fig also show the stripping?

Thanks Nelson.

Uuuugh -- not sure about the stripping. I have ignore this variant and left it to fend for
itself for years as I focused on the real yummie ones suitable for my zone. It almost died but grew
back well this year. I have probably over 30 variants that I never care & then the misses discover
she likes them like Brunswick, Gino, Capelas, Salem Dark, German Red, Sal's Corleone etc -- just
a bit too many. My plant did not come directly from Adriano but from Michael who gave me cuttings
and then his mother plant.

I put an Adriano in the ground this year. Tons of figs. None ripe yet, so I am watching for the stripes. I hope some soon ripen and aren't all next spring's breba. I am in Z6B so I glad it is cold hardy.

Nelson,

That fig looks incredible:)

Very nice, Nelson!  I'm growing this variety too, but young so far (no fruit yet).
