Adult gnats - who cares?

Chris, you want the full tape working.. this only catches the adults.. now, each of tem layed some 100-200 each... and in a few days... that is if your plant survive.  I have those also! I have littl wine/soap/water traps everywhere in each pot. also have tubs of  mosquito dunk mix and they are all catching the adults. I gave the plants a big soaking of warm soap water, just before I rinsed them in the mosquito dunk... now I am finding them dead everywhere...but I know some are still  in that larvae stage.  When you have that many in the fly tape, that is bad news!   I have 2 fly tapes hanging over the plants and accross the tub I have the little cups. \\

I even cut a few into pieces and stick them standing up on the little cutting. I will win this battle, but it is requiring outrageous actions and no forgiveness. I also cloroxed all the windows sides, sills and glass, as they lay their eggs in that moist that the plants make. Even without plants those bastards live in bathrooms, sewer pipes, sink drains...

I am reading about borax, I think a tiny bit of it when the soil is dryer should help, as it dries up their guts< at least it does to fleas.

Grasa, Adult fungus gnats do not feed feed on plant tissue. They can deposit fungal spores that can cause problems, typically at very high population numbers of adults. If you are seeing leaf destruction by insects, you have an insect problem other than fungus gnats and you might want to get a pest expert to identify your insect(s). Plant damage by fungus gnats is caused by the larvae feeding on roots and infecting the young plant with destructive bacteria and fungi that can only infect damaged root systems.

I have been using Bounce dryer sheets to good result.
