So I have cuttings that I started with the damp newspaper and plastic bags on top of the fridge.    They have been in this set up for about 2 weeks. They are showing signs of roots (the white raised dots)..  But I am thinking to take them out and put them in the plastic containers with some sphagnum peat moss.  I will then tote these to my office where it's about 75 degrees. .. I'm getting antsy because I have some more cuttings coming in and I'd like to have some system in place for success..

So what do you guys think?

If you think they're doing well in their current environment, I wouldn't bother them.  If you do move them, I'd suggest sphagnum moss, not sp peat moss.

There mainly are 2 types of moss – sphagnum moss and sphagnum peat moss. While sphagnum moss is the living top layer of a sphagnum bog, sphagnum peat moss is dead residue beneath this live layer. Hence, before harvesting the sphagnum peat moss from the lower levels of the bog, the harvesters must first remove the top few inches of the live sphagnum moss.

If you have enough cuttings also try a couple varieties directly in plastic cups with perlite / potting soil.  I tried the damp spaghnum moss in ziploc baggies and wasn't as successful as the perlite/potting soil method.  Try a couple of methods and see what works best for you.

I put my cups in a north facing window.  You don't want to cook the cuttings, but some indirect sun light helps in my opinion.  You will also need to use an inverted cup, a large ziploc bag or bagggie, or a larger Rubbermaid type container to maintain humidity while the cuttings get started.  Vince "Forever Figs" did a nice video on his method, I'll see if i can find it and put it in another post.

Steve has great info.  Just remember if you do use sp moss, after wetting it, squeeze the heck out of it so no water drips.  You'll get mold if it's too wet.

I think I'll try the cups next. I'm trying to find a place for them, I think my office because its hot as hades in there.
My husband is already looking at me sideways because of stuff on top of the fridge and the 4 plants (2 raspberry and 2 figs) in pots
under a grow light in the kitchen, not to mention the patio orange and lime trees in my small computer area..
I'm gonna locate some sp moss, locally, too lazy to wait for it to come from amazon or eBay.
