Aero Garden Rooting

Merry Chistmas and Happy Holidays to all

Santa got me a Aero Garden gadget Cause I was a good boy this year
I was hoping that it would work for rooting Cuttings just as soon I get some
Ottawan was kind enough to offer to send me a couple of cuttings as soon as the deep freeze is over
Did anyone ever tried to root cuttings on a hydroponic set up before
and did it work
This is what the little gadget looks like

I tried with a hydro-bubbler set-up.  It was unsuccessful.

Does your Aero Garden thing have sprayers or a bubbler stone?

Hi Chills

Its got the Air Stone
the bubbles break at the surface and that's
what wets the roots or the stalks

Your saying that its not going to work
I don't want to loose any cuttings trying it
It sure looks like it would work though

Last Spring I covered a small tree that wouldn't break
dormancy and I was told to cover it with a black garbage bag
in two weeks it started to break buds
but the base of the tree had roots coming out all around
just from the humidity i think

that's what make me think that this would work

I had big problems with both dehydration and rotting.  I also used a heat mat (under the water-tank) to keep temperatures up.  (I ofter fear that I try rooting too early as my thermostat drops at night to 60 degrees during the winter)

Does it come with rockwool or haydite?

~Chills

Hi Chills

You have convinced me not to wast time with this thing
I didn't come with any medium it came with  a kit of herbs

I'm just going to jut the herbs in it for the wife
its not a bad looking gadget she can keep it on the counter
and have herbs if they grow

Thanks for your input I would hate o loose a cutting over this
I'll stick to the baggie method
