Afternoon Snack

A few Lyndhurst White figs for a refreshing snack. Enjoy

So what is the taste of this delicious looking fig?  Thanks for sharing!

Suzi

Hey Suzi, I didn't do that on this thread since I had already posted this fig on 7/19, but I had said  On the melon side with just a little crunch and I
gave it an 8.5

Its so different from all the dark figs and most of my whites. It is a very good fig and I believe it would be good for you in ground because
it doesn't wilt in our heat of 90+ degrees, it doesnt ask for water at all, the birds don't bother it since it is green when ripe and it is good.

OK!  I'll put it on my UC Davis list for next year if they have it.

Thanks!

Suzi

Or I could just send you some cuttings this fall.

Looking good, Mike

You earned it

they look great!

Looks delicious. Up here in the northeast, we are waiting out the dog days of august for a ripe main crop, maybe in 2 weeks time!

Definitely picture worthy.  They look divine.

Looks very delicious.

Look'in great, Mike! Joe

Yummmmm! My favorite!!!

David, I thought about you when picking and cutting these.

I want to eventually have 10 of these trees :) The one Tamar gave me has 13 figs on there and some are already in the stagnant stage :)

Really looking nice

Kind of makes you appreciate light figs, I'm a believer.

I'm not jealous I'm happy for you.  So far this season I have had 1 Adriatic breba which was the first Adriatic I had tasted and it was very good.  Mom had half of it and thought it was very good too.  Then today I finally had another fig a Celeste about the size of a dime.  Started to throw it away just figured that small it would be tough and dried up.  Glad I didn't incredible taste like Mango/Cantaloupe intense flavors. Anyway just want you to know I'm not jealous I'm happy for you really I am.

Can't believe maybe 50 mile makes so much difference.

Hi newnandawg,
Nice snack.
I had 2 BTs and 6 uftis for the dessert at diner time. I shared them with my miss and madame. One fig more was shared with the sparrows as I hadn't spotted it before and so did not protect it.
Of the 6 ufti, the protected ones were not touched, and the others were well hidden. The 2 BTs were enough hidden as well .
This season is a productive one for me here .

Very nice Mike, any fig named after a town in New Jersey has my blessing..
I need to get one too
