agressive rooter

Here are pictures of my Fiorone De Ruvo which I started in a paper towel. I moved it to the inverted cup on 3/30/2011 and it has filled the cup with roots. It even out paced "Lots-a-roota" (Latarulla) by a mile. You can't see it in the pictures but it has even sent out roots above the soil within the cup. Does anyone else have this one and have an opinion or description of the flavor.

Gene.........No pictures!

Mine has done the same thing. Maybe a week or so from potting up.

I have 2 cuttings. One with terminal end has out paced a cut end by a week.

I don't have Fiorone De Ruvo and will be watching for your report how it does in our area.

OK, I've edited the post to show the pictures. Thanks.

Gene,

I have that variety (I hope!). I got it as a trade. Growing nicely but still young with no fruit.

Gene,

I sent you an email (pickin yer brain)

Thanks Gene!!

Here is some members experience with older posting on Fiorone De Ruvo

it caught my interest a few seasons back cause it "may" have come from region were 1 family member was born.  But never obtained and have no interest in it since.

Just started cuttings this year and it has been a great rooter, not so great for top growth but I want it as a side kick to desert king, a breba only early ripening fig.

Ed that sounds like a plan to me. An early bearing breba only would suit me fine if it's as prolific as I've heard and the taste is acceptable. We'll have to compare notes down the line if we are both successful at bring them to fruit.
